Hi Sheree, firstly I just wanted to say thank you for creating this site and bringing some light in to my hair loss hell!
To summarise, I'm a 30 year old female. I started losing my hair over a year and a half a go and also noticed that my scalp was pink and often tingled. After a blood test, I found out that my vitamin D, iron and ferritin level was low so I started on iron and vitamin D tablets. Although my levels went up, the hair loss continued. I then started on minoxidil which did initially reduce my hair loss and I had some regrowth, but this was short lived.
I then came across your site and started following the diet strictly and I've been on it 11 weeks now. So far, I have noticed that my scalp is looking a lot less pink which I am assuming is a reduction in inflammation. I'm also getting the tingles a lot less.
Like many other contributors, I'm also noticing some tiny, fine hairs starting to appear on my scalp, which I'm very excited about as it's been a while since I've noticed any significant hair growth - so fingers crossed they will thicken up.
Last week, I introduced fish gelatin to my diet and over the last 4 days, I've noticed a significant reduction in the amount of hairs I am losing. Before I was counting 60-70 hairs in my hair brush after a shower and always found loose strands on me throughout the day. I now have about 15-20 hairs in my brush after showering and barely notice any fall during the day - woop woop!
As well as following the diet, I also take the following;
Hair vitamin & mineral supplement
Apple Cider Vinegar
...a long list I know!
Anyway, I have taken some before photos and will post these in a few months time, when fingers crossed there is a noticeable difference for comparison. I just wanted to post now to help encourage others to give the diet and the fish gelatin a go as I really do believe it is helping my situation!
